▶ Your Answer : There might be some people who believe that it is no worthy to spend budget on sports. However, I disagree with the above idea for the following two subsequent reasons.
To begin with, physical activities can enhance students' learning ability. To explain, soley sedentary style rather diminish their interests for studying. According to a study conducted by the Korea Education Association, it is more efficient for them to engage in sports while studying than not to do physical activities. For example, I will talk about my experience to illustrate this point. When I was in a middle school, my parents had me only sit study for a long time and never do outdoor activities, which made my achievement not good. Consulting with my teacher, my parents planned to make me do football games with my friends. After finishing games, I started to study at my desk. Surprisingly, I felt that I could learn by heart the essence in the textbook readily than bofore. Finally, I could be ranked higher dramatically. From this experience, I realized that sports can provide students with efficient ways to attain the academic goals.
On top of that, sports can make students sociable. To be specific, sports usually need students to be gathered, and this can promote them tied emotionally. Through the physical activities, students can learn what the society is and how they mingle with them each other. For instance, a poll was conducted by the Seoul National University with 1,000 university students as respondents. The purpose of the survey was to understand the consensus view about the affect of the school sports programs. The majority of respondents emphasized the importance of it. The overwhelming 75% had responded that it is indispensable for students to do physical program with gathering, since they could have opportunities to get special relationship with their peers. Moreover, they claimed that those chances could make students increase their emotional intelligence, which made themselves sociable. This survey shows that students have a positive view of having themselves participate in sports programs.
To sum up, sports can increase students' ability for studying and also give them opportunities to make friends. In this regard, I firmly believe that universities ought to invest on sports as they do on libraries. |
