▶ Your Answer :Children should have art and music as
mandatory school subjects along with math, history, science, and language.
Some people think that it is preferable to
teach only math, history, science and language rather than to teach art and
music obligatorily. However in my opinion, art and music should be mandatory
school subjects. This is because School is not a place in which students study
for going to universities. Also art and music is helpful to learn other
subjects such as math, history, and science.
To begin with, most individuals would agree
with the notion that schools should provide art and music education for
students. This is mainly due to the fact that students who want to become
artist attend at school. For example, while in high school, my friend wanted to
be a musician. Other friend wanted to be artist. Without art and music
subjects, they could not have achieved their dreams. However, with art and
music classes, they could develop their talent, and they achieved their dream.
On top of that, students are able to learn other
subjects like math, history and science by learning art and music. This rings
true since studying art and music can develop their creativity, which is helpful
to study. A study, conducted by Korea University
of education, demonstrated that students who learned math subject with art and
music achieved higher scores than others who learned only math subjects. Also
the former showed higher degree of creativity rather than the latter.
To sum up, it should be necessary for students to
study art and music. This is because schools have different students who have
different goals each other, and art and music subjects are able to help
students to learn other subjects. In this regard, I prefer to have art and
music as mandatory school subjects rather than to reject these subjects. |
