Surely,
charities play a significant role in people’s daily lives in many of the places
where they work or play. Some people think that a person does not have to give
away more to charities, although he or she earned more money, while others do
not. If I were asked to choose one, I would say that the more money a person
has, the more he or she should donate organizations that help underprivileged people.
There are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, when people donate
more money to charities, it contributes to the increase in overall happiness. By
donating organizations which take actions for people in need, donators could
help people who suffer from poverty to eat, go to school and to care about
their health. This is likely to prevent donators from feeling meaningless in
their lives. For example, when my sister succeeded in food industry, Kimchi,
she often felt depressed thinking that her life became an exhausting routine.
She spent whole day coming up with new products and managing her markets,
hoping that her company could outdo others. Even though her company was
expanded more and more, she was too busy to think that her life is special and
meaningful. Fortunately, she has changed little by little after she started to donate
more money to charities as known as Serving Others (SO). Since SO called her and
asked her to donate more, she increased her fee to more than 100,000 won. By
doing so, the organization started to send some letters about their news from Malawi
and India. She subscribed the letter and realized that she could help others
that she does not know through her earnings. Without this experience, she would
still have been depressed and thought that her life is meaningless.
All things considered, the advantages
of donating more far outweigh the disadvantages of those for the reasons I have
mentioned above. All in all, I strongly believe that giving away more to
charities when people become rich and afford to donate cannot be overestimated
in our life. |
