There is an ongoing debate on whether the old can learn from young people. Some people might say that since old people have many life experience and understanding , they do not need young people's advice and knowledge. In opposition to this, I strongly disagree with the idea that there is nothing adult can learn from young generations. The rationale behind this is that young people have more knowledge and information, are not afraid of making mistakes, and can focus on the present.
To begin with, young people can access to numerous information easily. With the advent of computers, imparting knowledge is not people's role any more. In the past, most knowledge and wisdom came from people's experience, however, these days, people can get far more information through the internet. Therefore, young people who have more time with the internet can have much knowledge than the old. For example, last week, my family visited my uncle who recently moved his new house. Since it was the first time to visit his new house, we did not know how to get there. Then, my daughter searched for the internet and found out the map. With her help, we could go to our destination easily. In this sense, young people know more information which is useful to live today's life.
Moreover, young people behave actively. Since they have open mind to learn new things and tend not to care others. It is easy for them to start what they want to. For example, When people immigrant to another country, what they first do is learning foreign language. Since it is the basic skill to communicate, mastering language is crucially important. However, most cases, the young have significant results of learning language, while the old are easy to fail learning it. This is because young people are not afraid making mistakes. In this regard, the old should learn children's active behaviour.
Finally, young people can enjoy the present. When adults make plans, they are likely to think the result of them and not to start or give up what they are trying to do. However, young people do not care about the results and enjoy the present. For instance, last sunday, I went to the nearest amusement park with my family. Since there were too many people gathered, it was not easy to enjoy time pleasantly. When we actually enter it, children were very happy to be there and did not care how much time they had to wait in order to ride one appliance. As I watched them, I thought that they had different attitudes about same situations. Through their encouragement, I could join the line to ride appliance. Likewise, young people are more adventurous and can enjoy the present.
To sum up, I strongly believe that the young have many good point for the old to learn. This is because they are easy to reach the numerous knowledge, and have active behaviour. Additionally, it is possible for them to enjoy the present.
