1. man vs mammoths
On the other hand

Both the lecture and the reading passages are discussing about three theories explaining why mammoths disappeared in a short time. According to the reading passage, there are three primary assumptions of their extinction. However, the lecturer firmly believes none of those are true.
First of all, human cannot win against to mammoths, because mammoths are so huge and have really thick skin. However, this opinion opposes to the first theory in the reading passages. Paul Martin, University of Arizona scientist, said the clevis People who were the first humans were clever hunters and they hunted the mammoths.
Secondly, the lecturer cannot support the second theory that mammoths are killed because of weather changes. Other kinds of elephants are still alive. They adjusted to the climate changes. However, according to the passages, climate became warmer and the moist air became drier. Those seasons emergence made mammoths die.
Finally, researcher found only 10% died because of diseases. This fact directly refutes the claim of passage that disease brought by humans destroyed mammoths. According to the passage, mammoths did not have any resistance and this plague might have passed from generation to generation. However, the lecturer does not believe it because there is no evidence.
In conclusion, although there are three main theories about mammoths extinction, the lecturer does not believe those assumptions.
