Now the technology is so advanced that studying the fine arts is useless. Do you agree or disagree? |
We are living in the 21st century where the technology can resolve all the problems in a few clicks. It is indeed possible for a person to imitate the masterpieces of past great artists without many challenges, if he were to be adept at using computers. This proposes a question whether or not studying the fine arts is futile. Frankly speaking, when looking at the quality of a work, the products that has been forged by a computer are much better. However, I personally think that people should not consider studying the fine arts a waste of time since the pieces produced by actual artists depict incalculable effort and reflect the artists' styles. Hand-produced objects look more exquisite than those created by computers. I remember getting a much higher grade by doing assignments by hand, such as making posters. It shows one's true effort and the invaluable time spent on completing it. Although artworks that has been produced by computers do look sophisticated and vivid, it does not include any dark spots of finger prints of the artists; in other words, computer generated artworks do not reveal one's true endaevor in making it. Thus, it is not a waste of time to study the fine arts since computer produced artworks and those that were made by artists' extensive efforts are certainly different. Artists have their own styles in their pieces. Although computer can make extremely similar pictures for their pieces, they could never be exactly same. As there is a term photogenic, which is used to describe people who look better in photos, technology can not duplicate things as they are completely. Moreover, computer produced artworks will have no distintive dispositions since the only artist completing these works is the computer itself. To preserve artists' distintiveness, it is necessary to conserve and learn fine arts. To sum up, it is absolutely not a waste of time to study the fine arts even if the modern technology were to create extremely identical counterparts. Although these counterparts may seem to be identical, they will lack not only in efforts but also in various styles. It is the same difference of going to a real performance and watching it at home. |
