There is a controversy over whether borrowing money from a friend can harm or damage the friendship. Some people might believe that it is okay to borrow some money from their true friends because their friends could understand their hard situation. However, I am certain that borrowing money from friend is not reasonable. This is because this money can cause people to be under stress, lead to bad relationships, and decrease trust. Above all, borrowing money from friend can make stresses to the friend who borrowed some money. What I mean is that he might remember the fact that he has borrowed his money to his friend and wonder when can get back that money even though that was so small amount of money. Many people who borrowed their money do not want to be a stingy person, so it is very difficult to request lender to pay back their money. Therefore they would be under the stress so much. In this respect, borrowing money from friends is not good way in that it can cause people to be hurt their feeling. Moreover, asking lending money from a friend has a negative effect on friendship. To be more specific, it is common thing for borrower to flee from their friend because they do not have any ability to pay back that money. For example, my father lent amount of money to his friend who got fired 4 years ago and could not have any job. However, he did not have to pay back the money and could not keep in touch with him. Therefore, my father lost his money as well as the money. It is obvious that lending money between friends often bring about bad results. Finally, borrowing money makes people lose their faith and confidence. This is because if you lent your money to your friend frequently, you might consider your friend as a not-convincing person. According to the survey, seventy percent of people’s opinion is that they do not want to have relationship with people who wanted them to lend money or belongings. People thought this sort of thing not that big deal first, but they could recognize that borrower’s credit was drastically decreasing so that they do not trust this kind of person anymore. This example clearly shows that why dealing money between friends can damage their relationship. To sum up, I strongly believe that the statement that borrowing money from a friend can damage the friendship for the reasons that I mentioned above. |
