In addition, the writer mention that the other advantage of it is versatility and expanding capability. However in the lecture, the teacher rebuts these idea completely. First, she told that there are a drawback in unsing e-books which is a limited lifespan. she said that there is no guarantee that the contents go out of use due to so fast development of the computer. If the computers are developed there will be a danger that we can not use the e-books which we buy in previous time. This express the opposite opinion to the reading which assert that e-books are beneficial thanks to the ability to store so many contents. Also, although the writer told that the convenience of e-books which comes from portability, the professor suggested a negative aspect in this view. Portability is consequently useless because it needs a long lasting battery. Nowadays' battery enables readers to read e-book for just 8-10 hours before recharging that. Therefore readers are limited in the time reading. In addition, if the we loss the file or the machine is broken, we have to spend time and money to repair it or buy another one. Lastly, the lecturer also mention eyesight problem. In the reading passage, the writer said that e-books enables contents expanded and updated along with readers' tastes and needs. However the speaker maintain that it is confined to several people. According to a research, 88% of interviewees told that they was able to concentrate on an e-book just 5 pages in maximum. This shows that people don't gain convenience from the eloctronic books especially when the long text involved. |
