regular school education or playing time for young children |
Some people think that children should begin their education as early in their lives as possible, while others think that children should spend most of their early age playing. Each opinion could be supported by a number of arguments. However, it is my opinion that playing is more important activity than learning for children during their early years because the primitive age is the only time for children to acknowledge the laws of nature, and to develop social abilities. First of all, I firmly believe that children must learn the laws of nature and playing allows them to learn it. For example they can realize the term of gravity by the toy blocks crumbling down, and the ball thrown towards the sky that soon drops back to the ground. This is essential fact to be known at a early period because those things that children learn at early years become the basis of their mentality. Also, playing is crucial in the initial age of children since it develops their social ability. Playing with other peers enhances their faculty to have conversations and to make amicable relationship with others. Those who lack the experience of mutual interaction with others at a young age have critical problems when they grow up. For instance, according to the Korean ministry of education, 76 percent of teenagers who took regular school education at a very young age responded that they have difficulty getting along with others even though they have great academic performance at their junior high schools. After the announcement of this surprising statistics, the ministry of education officially offered parents to give their children regular recreation time with others. In brief, I strongly believe that the importance of children playing can not be underestimated in terms of acknowledging the laws of nature and developing social ability. Parents that merely push children to achieve high scholastic scores will ruin their human nature and devastate their happiness. |
