It is better to have a broad knowledge from academic subjects than having a specific knowledge from one subject.

Opinions might be divided over whether or not gaining knowledge from diverse subjects is better than solely one subject. Personally, I agree with the statement for the following two reasons. First, as our societies are getting sophisticated, people need to know at least more than one thing. Second, people can reduce risks of their future by learning about a broad knowledge. To begin with, although the knowledge acquire from diverse academic subjects is not practically using in our actual sphere, as the societies are getting complicated, they require us to be well-informed in many courses. According to a study released by the Korean Ministry of human Resources Development, more than 80% of the surveyed companies require their applicants to have English speaking skills even though the fields were totally unrelated to English. This study indicates that people should be aware of numerous academic courses since the world is getting too complicated so that one can survive with just one specific skill. |
