People will spend less time for cooking and preparing food in twenty years than they do today. |
As the society is changing very fast and people have more concerns and interests about what to eat and how to eat, the technology to cook has been developing fast. In this context, some people may want to say that there is no particular change regarding how to cook in twenty years. In opposition to this idea, I strongly argue that cooking in the future will be much faster so that people are able to save a lot of time. The rationale behind this is because people will have more and various programs about cooking and the development of technology for cookers will give benefits to people. More than any thing else, there are many kinds of cooking materials and programs which help people save lots of time for cooking. People may get access to these contents very easily in their daily lives from TV, various magazines or even the Internet. For example, I am living in Toronto, Canada and have to support myself, cooking tasty food. At first, I did not know what to do and how to make the foods that I had eaten in Korea all the time. Even though I tried to make food to eat so hard, it was so challenging and demanding for me to cook. However, my friend told me that she got all the information to cook delicious food from the Internet where people post some special cuisines and recipes. She just followed them when she cooked so she saved a huge amount of time. Finally, she could manage more time to study and enjoy her life in Canada than I did. Through my own experience, I can draw a conclusion that when cooking, referring to possible references from the mass-media or the Internet is beneficial for me to save lots of time. Furthermore, many people will get more advantages to save time to cook in twenty years because newly invented cookers or new machines for cooking are released. They are not only making the lives of people safer but also providing ways for people to save lots of time. For instance, it was so mysterious and fantastic for me to see the rice cooker cooking rice by using the air pressure inside it. What I do to cook and eat rice is to press the button and just wait until it is ready to eat. While it is cooking, I can either do the assignments or read books, saving a huge amount of time. In contrast, I used to go to my grandmother’s house twenty years ago. When she prepared for dinner, she had to put lots of branches of the trees in the fireplace to boil the huge steel bowl which had the rice. I was too hungry to wait because it took around an hour to cook the rice. Not only was it complicated and inconvenient to cook the rice and food, but also it took up lots of time to cook food. From these examples, the modern technology in twenty years will produce better machines and cookers for people to cook and then people will take less time to cook food. In sum, I strongly affirm that the people in twenty years will be able to take less time for cooking for the aforementioned reasons. Considering the current phenomenon regarding the cooking, it is obvious to foresee that the diverse sources and developed technology in the cooking industry will help the people limit the time for cooking. |
