Although reading passage listed three advantages of e-books, the speaker argues that these benefits are eclipsed by several disadvantages.
The reading passage suggests that electric storage devices are convenient because theese devices can store large amount of data. However, this arguement is not always relevant. Due to vulnerability of e-books, e-books do not have ability to keep thier data for a long time. For example, there exist some technical difficulties such as hardware or softwafe problem after new devices will be developed. According to the speaker, then, e-book has convenience of capability of storing large amount is not appelaing.
The reading passage also matains idea that portabilty is important because readers can easily carry thier e-books. This can certainly be the case, but it is also the case that limited power supply from batteries attenuates the easy-handling. As the speaker points out, therefore, the claim that e-books have advantage of portablity does not seem attractive.
Finally, the reading passage asserts that both versatility and ability to up-date is strong asset for e-books. The speaker, however, suggests that readers could have optical problem when They read it for a long time and therefore, written books are suitable for long time reading. This reality renders the last arguement for e-books in the reading passage unattractive. |
