Topic : Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television has destroyed communication among friends and family. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. |
Nowadays, a majority of people cannot survive one whole day without a television. Although television brought many changes to contemporary society, its drawbacks cannot be ignored. Personally, the notion that television has destroyed communication among friends and family is not convincing considering that television provide people with vast amounts of subjects to talk about and a number of latest issues around the world. One of the most attractive features of televisions is the diverse programs shown on TV. It provides people with numerous subjects to talk about. As far as I know, I am quite sure that conversations that teenagers have are mostly based on things that they saw on TV. I am no exception either. Most of the conversations that my friends and I have are basically on soap operas or some comedy shows. Thus, the conception that television has destroyed communication among people is untrue. Instead, it should be revised as the television has developed the communications among friends and family. Furthermore, one is able to get up-dated with the latest issues. Since the world is changing at a high speed, the necessity on being up-dated with current issues has become essential for people. With the television, one is able to know the issues that are going on in different countries. To help with the understanding, I can give news as an example. News, broadcasted on TV daily, provide people with a variety of things such as the weather forecast, recently occurred issues, politics, and so on. What’s more, people can get this information in the blink of an eye. Taking all I mentioned into consideration, the statement that television has destroyed communications between friends and family is mistaken because television provide people with interesting topics to talk about and up-to-date issues. In addition, television has the ability to provide information rapidly. A click with a remote control is all that it is needed. |
