There is an ongoing debate on whether playing a game can give people a lesson about life. Some people might say that enjoying games is important, saying that it is not for the lesson but for fun. In opposition to this, I firmly believe that people can learn valuable lessons by playing games. The reasoning behind this is that people can develop how to think and how to cooperate with others. Additionally, games emphasize on some rules.
To begin with, playing games enables people to think deeply. In order to win the game, it is crucially important to analyse opponents and integrate their thoughts. This is because playing games needs thinking ability in an effort to win. This surely helps people to know how to accept problems and adjust them to their lives. For example, when I played Baduk which is a kind of korean checker , I had to ponder what I was going to do before I put one stone on the board. This game requires endurance and a high ability to think. This surely allows me to develop and progress my ability to think, and I could make use of this ability in every day's lives, especially useful when I compare two items with each other. In this sense, playing game makes people think in many ways
Next, people can learn how to live with others together. In order to win a game, people should learn the feelings of cooperation, from which they can find out that people need others' supports. For example, my brother is a professional football player. Therefore, he enjoys playing football games in an early football game(요말은 무슨뜻인지...). However, his team hardly wins a game because he does not support other members' acts. Instead, He always wanted to win a game with his effort. After several months later, he realized that he needed humble behaviour by cooperating each others. Even though he has a good skill, winning a game depends on every member's efforts. In this regard, playing games makes people learn how to help each others.
Finally, keeping rule is the most important aspect in playing games. This is because without it, playing games does not makes any sense. To illustrate, after finishing olympic games, there were always some athletes who used drugs for their final goals. Finally, it turned out later that they used prohibited drugs and had to hand over their medals after all. This truly shows that without keeping rule, winning games has no meaning. Likewise, in people's lives, it is also important to keep rules for their fair and success life.
To sum up, I definitely believe that games could teach people valuable lesson about life. This is because playing games wants people to have in-depth thinking for winning, makes people to learn how to live together, and has emphasize on keeping rules. |
