It has recently been announced that a large shopping center may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer. |
Some people say having a large shopping center in neighborhood is a good idea for dwellers and for the economy of the town. However, I oppose to this policy. Why I am in the negative side of this is because a bog shopping center brings traffic jam and inclination in criminal rates.
First of all, many people come and visit the shopping mall by car. Presume that more than a thousand people come and go which indicates that over a thousand of cars will be around the shopping area congesting the roads. To be specific, a research was conducted by citizens whose town is undergoing development in service industry with newly built theaters and shopping malls. The participants responded that the result of having shopping centers around is negative due to that a shopping mall not only relieve stress by shopping but also burden the stress by waiting.
On top of that, the rates of criminal drastically mounted up because of increase in population. With many people about, workers are too busy to be attentive to every single visitor. With no eyes watching, people steal valuables with lack of feeling guilt. To give a persona experience, I once managed a clothes shop. As the size of the shop was small with a limited number of buyers coming in, I take notice of what is missing. Also people could not take any as I follow wherever they go. However, when I closed my little business down and got employed in an immense department store, I had no time to keep a careful watch of every visitor and when after a large group of people come and go, many things were missing. This means that as a large shopping mall has its limit to be aware of every person, criminal rates go up.
As a consequence, due to traffic and stealing problems, I object to constructing a huge shopping center. It is a good idea to have a massive shopping store, but think of drawbacks of what this will bring. |
