Do you agree or disagree? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. |
Human beings are comprised with many kinds of different ethics and cultures. Historically, there was many conflicts and even wars between different cultures in the past. However, they are becoming a single world culture with the help of modern technology, which is represented by two kinds of it. Those are the Internet and the airplanes.
First of all, the Internet has been contributing to making the world closer. A person who live in Korea can interact with another who live in the US at the same time. It is enabled by the Internet. The best example of this point is my experience. When I was a high school student, the Internet did not exist at that time. So I had to go the library, which was very far from my house, in order to do homework. I lived in a rural area at that time, there was little books in the library. Thus, doing homework was a pretty difficult task for me. However, When I got into a college, the Internet infra started to develop in Korea, and it became to be able to use in my university shortly. As a result, I could write my paper with the help of the Internet. I could use not only information of my college, but also that of Harvard university in US through the Internet. Consequently, I learned many parts of American cultures in the course of searching the Internet.
In addition, people can move to everywhere in just one day through the airplanes. If it were not for the airplanes, they could not enjoy the world as much as they enjoy now. For example, I had to buy some flowers at my mother's birthday. It was cold winter at that time, however, I was able to buy a bunch of flowers easily. Because those flowers were produced in Austrailia, and transported to Korea quickly by the airplanes. Therefore, I could give beutiful flowers to my mother at cold winter.
To sum up, modern technology which is represented by the Internet and the airplanes make the world more closer. Consequently, cultural differneces of the world are becoming less than ever before. |
