Nowadays, cell phones are everywhere and even young children have their own cell phones. As cellular phones become popular, the noise caused by cell phone rise as an issuing problem, and some people maintain that cell phone shouldn't be allowed in public places. However, I think that using cell phone in public areasshould be available continuously because there might be important calls and new technologies have made using phone less disturbing behavior. First of all, we need to receive imminent calls for important reasons. Many business men regard time as very important factor. There are several cases that they fail to make contract because they couldn't receive call when their partners call. Also, normal people need to receive calls because of family emergency. In my case, I have some depressing experience. On the way to airport to take airplane for attending some studying abroad program, I caught a call from my grandmother. She talked me in a very sad voice that her husband dead right before. Due to that call, I could turn my way to my grandfather's house. If I were not allowed to receive that call, I wouldn't know my grand father's dead until the program ends and would regret. Secondly, thanks to new technologies, cell phone doesn't disturb people such a lot nowadays. When we take public transportation or go to movie theater, we are forced to turn our phone mode to vibration. With vibration option, phones don't make much noise. On top of that, several years ago, slient talking mode was invented. If we use that mode, we don't need to say loud to the speaker and just need to whisper. In my school, teachers don't preclude using phone in classes, and students use those queit technology not to disturb classes. Thus, students can receive some important calls and classes also can be proceed as normal even if there are conversation in talk by phone. In conclusion, the necessity of receiving important calls and newly developed slient technologies make it reasonable to utilize phones in public places. Now, phones are becoming a part of our lives. We always connected with other people by cell phones. I think we don't need to deny this stream of ubiqutous digital life, but need to think how to accept that trand and to make it beneficial for us. |
