Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
It has been a long controversy whether television commercials has a positive or negative effect on people. While some argue that advertisements make us purchase commodities that we do not need, others oppose the view because of the information advertisements provide us. In my opinion, I support the notion that commercials have a negative effect on us, for not only does it provide us erroneous information but also because advertisement make us buy things instantly, without hesitation.
1) commercials has -> commercials have
2) provide + 누구에게 + with + 무엇을 / provide + 무엇을 + to(for) + 누구에게
3) commercials니까 it가 아니라 they로 받는게 좋을듯...
To begin with, commercials usually provide erroneous information about the product they want to sell. Generally, the objective of companies and their advertisements is profit, and some of the malign companies will achieve this goal by all means. They will not only alter and overstate their commodities, but even create information that the product does not have. For example, there was a television commercial about some washing formulas that 'eliminate' germs by just a simple rinse. On the screen, it actually worked, and I was deceived by that. They also promised me a full refund if I did not like it after use. However, when I actually applied the formula, it did not rinse at all. And the ridiculous part is that when I requested for refund, they just hung the phone. This clearly illustrates how some commercials can give us erroneous information for their own profits.
2) but even create information that the product does not have. "없는 것 있는 것처럼 꾸며낸다"라고 표현하실 예정이셨다면, 좀 다르게 표현하는게 좋을 것 같아요. but (also they) even make believe that their products have a specific function, which in fact is not implemented in them.
3) about some washing formulas 은 좀 구어체같지 않나요? some...
4) 근데 formulas가 뭐죠?
5) when I requested for refund, they just hung the phone...
Also, commercials have one special hallmark; you buy it without considering its vice and virtues. Due to the fact that the commercial people send out a limited offer, we do not have enough time to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the product. Also, because transportation and technology has developed, you buy the commodity instantly, and these decisions are usually incorrect. There is a very clear example to support this statement. A research done by the National Economic Sales Evaluation Program indicates that limited time offer sales usually increase the product's sales rate for 40%; and the return request rate is about 35%. This clearly shows that people buy the products by instant feeling, and regret after that.
1) send out a limited offer
2) has -> have
4) There is a very clear example to support this statement.
To sum up, commercials has a very negative effect on people; they provide erroneous information, and often make us purchase goods without consideration. By these reasons, I strongly insist that advertisements make us purchase things we do not need. We should not focus on the merchandise we do not essentially need; instead, we should put our interest on our family, people near us, and on things that will compensate our hearts spiritually. As the saying goes, "A peace in my heart is as hundred times better than a room full with gold."
1) they provide erroneous information...
2) By -> For
4) 세미콜론이 너무 많네요. 처음 세미콜론 쓰신거 봤을 때 "오옷..세미콜론까지 활용하시네...상당한 고급 영작문처럼 보이네..."라고 생각했지만, 너무 많이 나오니까 좀 그렇네요 ;;;
시험 10일남았어요; 점수와 수정사항 부탁드립니다;
AD하고PR는 잘 쓸수 있겠는데, EX랑 IF형은 어떻게 써야할지 통;
