Essay 154.
In some countries, people are no longer allowed to smoke in many public places and office buildings. Do you think this is a good rule or a bad rule? Use specific reasons and details to support your position.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that smoking in public areas has long been a controversy among people. There would be different opinions concerning whether it is desirable to regulate smoking in buildings. It can be true that people have freedom to do anything if they didn't disturb other people. As far as I am concerned, however, It is an essential rule that bans smoking in public places. My two main points for this discussion are an unpleasant feeling and physical harm.
To begin with, one of the reasons why smoking in buildings should be regulated is unpleasantness. In particularly, it is evident that making other people uncomfortable is not a good behavior. Let's assume that people are smoking in an office. In all likelihood, the room would be filled up with gas, and other people would feel sickening. Moreover, nonsmokers would have a bad day. Consequently, it is much better to ban smoking in public areas than to permit for others' pleasant day.
Last of all, there is no question that smoke give people physical diseases. Putting it succinctly, it is dangerous to smoke for staying healthy. There are two examples to show how harmful smoking is. According to the Korean Times, studies have indicated that secondhand smoke is much more dangerous than direct smoke. In other case, one of my aunts who has lived with smokers for many years is struggling against lung cancer. I can see that a rule to regulate smoking in public areas is necessary in these instances.
In conclusion, taking all those into consideration, it is clear that smoking in buildings must be banned in terms of giving a sense of displeasure and causing serious illness. This is why I am strongly convinced that this rule is essential. Forbidding smoking in public sites is the only way to prevent these negative effects.
