Some people believe that the Earth is being harmed (damaged) by human activity. Others feel that human activity makes the Earth a better place to live. What is your opinion? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. |
As we grow up, our world changes rapidly. This is due to the human activities such as the development of technology. The human activities have made our lives more convenient and also made the Earth a better place to live in, but can anyone proudly say that these things happen without causing any problems? In my point of view, I think it is rather harming our Mother Earth. One of the problems is that these human activities have stolen much of the Earth’s natural resources. To illustrate, I would like to talk about the paper-making process. These days, paper plays a very important role in our everyday life. Since we use it very often, we take this for granted. However, behind the process of making paper requires a large amount of trees. If we keep cutting down the trees in the forests, there will not be much left at some point in the future. Deforestation means less oxygen for us humans or animals to breathe in. As a result, not only humans, but also living creatures will face the risk of extinction. Aside from this, one of the serious reasons is environmental pollution. It can be air pollution, water pollution and so on. However, the worst part is the holes in ozone layer that causes global warming. It is getting worse every year and at this pace, we could be in very serious trouble later on. In addition, we cannot ignore the seriousness of the oil spills in the ocean. Sea creatures which are polluted by this type of catastrophe can affect us as well for we eat many of them. In conclusion, we cannot deny that human activities have greatly contributed to the quality of human lives. The human activities have caused a lot of problems simultaneously. I think it would be much safer if humans do these activities only after when they carefully considered all the possible disadvantages that may cause. |
