Observing and studying animals can teach us a lot about human nature. |
There have been numerous researches figuring out human nature by studying animals. There has also been criticism against these studies since some people say that the traits of human cannot be compared with those of animals because of human are much more rational. In opposition to this point, I strongly argue that human nature can be learned with study of animals. The rationale behind this point is that, like humans, animals are also based on socialism. Additionally, many historical features have shown humans’ animal-like behaviors. More than anything else, the tendency of human to gather together with others is very similar to a variety of species of animals. For example, ants and bees live in huge groups. Each of those has its own responsibility to support the group in where it is involved. Some of them are in charge of carrying food from other places like workers in human society. Some protect their places like soldiers in human’s society. In this respect, we can easily tell that there are definitely analogous traits between humans and animals. Secondly, history of human shows various animal-oriented characteristics in human mind. To protect their own place and resources, they struggled with other groups. When they found that they were in need of physical resources, they tried to attack other groups that had abundant materials that they needed. In today’s world, this human trait is concealed with the advanced technology that has helped human get out of the shortage of physical sources. To sum up, I firmly believe that study of animals can offer many good examples to researchers who engage in studying human nature. Scrutinizing of animals gives us the inclination of human’s getting along in a group. Moreover, the nature of animals learned by observing them clarifies the one of humans' characteristics. |
