domestication has been understood completely. On the other hand, the lecture
objects to the points mentioned made about the origin of domesticated dogs in
the reading passage. The professor states that the ideas in the passage have
flaws.
First of all, the lecturer argues that the claim about
orphaned wolf pups. As speaker says, it can be impossible that people trained
wolf pups to assist hunting because the hunting style between wolf and human is
totally different. In addition, wolves usually get very aggressive as they old
so it would have been too dangerous to train them. This casts doubt on the
author’s claim that dogs evolved from wolves.
Second, the professor points out that the argument
regarding with the beginning of dogs is mistaken. The professor argues the
origin of dogs is earlier than 16,000 years ago. This is because a dog’s
footprint was found with human footprint in a cave, and the footprints turned
out it was 24,000 years ago. This contract the writer’s view that dogs has
started to be domesticated since 16,000 years ago.
Finally, the speaker contends that the opinion
concerning with China is flawed. The lecturer argues that the result from research
related to ancient dogs’ fossils prove otherwise. It shows dogs are originated
from 4 sorts of ancient dogs from different countries. Therefore, this goes
against the writer’s view that dogs’ domestication has started from China because
there are various kinds of dogs which can be seen around the world.
