▶ Your Answer :
Some people might say that working by hand
has more advantages than machine. However, in my opinion, it is better to use
machine than hands when working for following two subsequent reasons.
To begin with, it is highly effective to decrease
expense, such as labor cost or human insurance fee. Imagine that companies hire
people and let them work by hand. It is strongly doubtful to believe that the
companies make big money. The only key to reduce human expense and earn big money
would be to utilize machines. For example, Moonsuk Chung, CEO of Silitex, had similar
problem a few years ago. When he started his job, labor costs were not
expensive. However, as time went by, cost of the labor became higher. Along
with personal expense, he had to pay for individual computers, meals, or traffic
expense. Therefore, He concluded that he cut workers of his company and bought
machine. Through this decision, he could save 30% of total expense and get more
money.
On top of that, machines help to save a lot
of time rather than handwork. If a company spend time to make handmade products,
it will be a waste of time. In this business world, time is gold. Since we
cannot turn time back, we must save time as much as we can. In this sense,
using machine for products is of big help. For instance, there was a poll
conducted by Korean Industrial Business Association in 2011 with 215 CEOs as respondents.
The purpose of the survey was to understand the view about how much machines
are preferred in today’s factories. The majority of respondents ranked machines
over human resource. The main reason was that machine could be used regardless of
daytime and night. On the other hand, employees have time for lunch or dinner
and take break time. Therefore, machines are the best choice to make items
constantly.
To
sum up, considering diminishing human expenses and saving time into
consideration, I believe that machines are much better to work.
