▶ Your Answer : It may have advantages of growing up in rural areas. Environment would be cleaner, and there may be more ways to play in rural areas than cities. But despite of it, I think it is better for children to grow up in cities. First of all, there are many facilities and places for children. Second, living in cities is more convenient. Although rural areas have their own advantages, they often lack of what is advantageous for children. Usually cities' schools and academies have better quality, because cities are likely to invest more on those. So children can access to better educational sources. Plus, due to cities' investment, cities also may have better facilities such as public library where children can access to variety of knowledges, and even playground or a park. I will take my case as an example. I moved to Seoul from other rural area when I was seven. And I could get access to better school facilities and education and especially, I was amused by many places to spend good time easier, such as megabox and coex. I often spent time there with my parents, watching movies and having dinner. And later when I went to high school, I could take renowned, good instructors' classes and I got better grades at school. Although I can't say that my grades are good because I live in city, but I can't ignore that I had more oppurtunities. And living in cities can be more convenient to children and parents as well. Cities have more things which is needed for people to live in good quality such as stores, department stores, and restaurants. Parents can get what they need to but, what they need to get more easily than when they live in rural areas, and thus children can too. They are more likely to get what they want from parents such as clothes, or perhaps bicycle or MP3 player. Of course it can have a risk, but parents can solve this problem by disciplining them. In my friend's case, she came to where I live now when she was young too. And she often says to me that she is happy to live in cities because she got many things what she needed after moving to cities. She is actually preparing to enter university to major arts, so she had to get equipments to draw but there were not many stores which sell art equipments in rural areas and she could get those in cities. Considering life with better quality and convenience of city life, I think it is better to live in cities than rural areas. These two advantages of city lives outweigh that of rural areas because I think that quality of life is very important to people. |
