▶ Your Answer : Some people might think that teachers should not be allowed to talk about their social or political perspective in the classroom. However, I believe that teachers should make their social or political views to students for the following two reasons.
First of all, students can improve their communication skills. Understanding the environment of the classroom and the potential role of the teachers' political view is necessary to substantiate this view. If teachers gives their opinions about political issues, some students agree with their ideas and the others might disagree with the ideas. Students can also give their own ideas about the issues. In a discussion, in order to persuade other students, students should be able to gives their opinions with support for the opinions. From this process, students can learn how to listen others saying and organize their ideas. Consequently, teachers opinions about political and social issues can improve students' communication skills On top of that, teachers can promote students' interest in political and social issues. In response to the importance of students' interest in political and social issues, many expert opinions and research statistics reinforce the idea that teachers can enhance students' interest in those issues. Experts say that students usually are not interested in political issues, because they spend most of their time studying academic subjects. As a way to increase their interests, teachers give students opinions about those issues in the class. This can be guidelines to participate in society. Students can learn about what is going on in society and how their teachers think, and eventually they will be able to develop their opinions on specific issues. To sum up, I believe that that teachers should make their social or political views to students for the two reasons: to improve communication skills and promote interests in issues. Consequently, the importance of my view cannot be underestimated for the reasons I mentioned above. |
