▶ Your Answer :Some people
think that news programs are unbiased. However, in my opinion, newspaper and
news programs are often biased. This is because the media wants to draw people's
attention and is usually used for political purpose.
Firstly,
media likes to cover sensational topics and use headlines. To survive in this world
of endless competition, media ought to attract people's attention. All of
journalists are aware of the fact that making headline is like a camel passing through the eye
of a needle nowadays. (단순히 헤드라인을 만드는게 그렇게 어려운가요? 헤드라인을 돋보이게 만드는 것은 어렵다 라는 뜻으로 쓰는게 뜻이 더 잘 전달됩니다)The press's ability can be clouded by other's abilities, so
in order to stand out, a journalist must be able to write exciting articles.
For example, when I was reading a one of articles that an article about Korean idol singer and
actor were dating.(when I was --/ 내가 뭐뭐 했을 때 라는 뜻인 말로 문장을 시작했는데 그 후에 내용이 없습니다. 내용 전달이 전혀 안되는 문장입니다) However, it was not true and it was just for getting a lot of
views.
Moreover, media
is usually used for political purpose. For example, there was a poll conducted by
Korean government, with 50 million people as respondents. The purpose of the survey
was to understand the consensus view about "Are media often biased?"
in today' society. An overwhelming 85% responded that medias are often biased.
This was mainly because political parties usually use presses to their advantage.
Therefore, each presses' articles have different meaning to one event.(무슨 뜻으로 문장을 쓰신건지 이해가 가지 않습니다)
To sum up, media
wants to draw a lot of people's attention and is usually used for political
purpose. In this regard, I firmly believed that newspapers and news programs
are often biased.
