▶ Your Answer : Some might say that it is more important for universities to improve the facilities rather than to hire prestigious professors, while others think differently. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to choose one, I would say that it is better for school to enhance the facilities rather than to hire well-known teachers for the following two subsequent reasons.
To begin with, well-facilitated libraries are equipped with many functions that helps students do additional learning, for instance, it allow students to read countless books. When such functions are well used, it brings a better result in their academic performance. For example, When I was a freshman, I took a history class with the renown professor. However, I could not understand a lot of things in the class. Even I had questions I could not ask him since he was always busy. For this reason, I went to library on the campus and I red books that are relevant to my history class' theme whenever I had questions. As a result, I found that it was very helpful and saved so much time, Because it enabled me to obtain an anytime and to receive nice result in the class finally. Without the facility like library, I would get a poor grades in the class
On top of that, Due to the fact that the world changes faster and faster, what people need to learn also changes over time. The facilities on campus, such as computer lab, allow students to get the latest information. Obtaining up-to-day information might contribute to one's success. According to a study conducted in Yonsei University in 2011, two groups of students showed a huge difference in the employment rate of the graduate. One group consisted of those who had used the Internet for preparing for a job interview, and other group was made up of those who had relied on the professor's information for that. The researchers found that the rate of employment of the former group was higher than that of the latter. The interviewer said that the former group had suggested a newest solution which can be applied today, on the other hand, the latter group had presented a old-fashion idea. If were not for the Internet, the former group would not had found the job
In a nutshell, as students can access information from a library anytime and can obtain the latest information through the Internet, I strongly believe that the universities should improve their facilities rather than hire prominent professors |
