▶ Your Answer : It has become controversial whether a teacher's income
should be based on his or her students' performance or not. Some may say that deciding
teacher's income by students' performance is good idea because it makes teachers to teach
harder. However, I disagree with the given statement because deciding teacher's
income by students' performance is wrong. My reasons are as follows.
First of all, there are other things important than performance
for students and teachers have to teach the things like creativity or
communication skills. Even if these things are so important to students, it
is not connected with performance. Therefore, students' performance can never
become standard of income. For example, when I was in high school, I met
respectful teacher. I really respected him because he helped us to realize how
can we effectively communicate. Moreover, throughout various kind of class, I
could improve my creativity. Even if our class' performance was not good, all
of his students loved and respected him. This is the reason why students'
performance can not become standard for teachers' income.
Secondly, it is ineffective that deciding teachers' salary by students'
performance because not all the students need a high grade. To be specific, the
students who has interest in art or physical activities are needed not
performance but activities connected with their interest. However, when
teachers' salary is decided by students' performance, teachers have to increase
students' grade for their commercial life. This means that the teaching
time for activities or art can be shortened. It is more important than
high grade that the students who have interest in art or physical activities do
activities connected with their interest. It is too ineffective and bad for the
students. For example, when I was a middle school student, I had interest in
art. My teacher did not impose to increase grade but encourage our interest. As
a result, I could find my talent in art and decide my future. If his
salary was decided by students' performance, he might enforce us to
increase performance.
In conclusion, I disagree with the given statement by the reasons I mentioned
above. |
