There are some opinions that the freedom is so important that anyone can’t limit it. However, in my opinion, there are some circumstances like a war or doctors’ treatments that people’s freedom must be infringed.
To begin with, people infringe the freedom because of safety when the war occurred. The government allow people to live in dormitory for protecting them. For example, in 1960, when the Korean war occurred, the people who lived in 3.8 line restricted to live there. The people’s freedom that choose where to live was restricted because the region was so dangerous to live. So, people can be limited their freedom by the government because of safety.
On top of that, it is acceptable to limit a person’s freedom because of medical purpose. When people get diseases such as cancer, a doctor limit the patient’s food. This is for treating disease. For instance, my mom got sick for a month because of her habitat of eating food. So the doctor limited her food for changing her eating habitat. Limiting freedom of having food, she could recover her eating lifestyle. For medical reasons, doctors occasionally limit patients' freedom what to eat.
To sum of that, in situations in the war, the government restrict people’s freedom for safety. For people’s health, doctors can limit patients freedom for treatment. In this regard, it is sometimes acceptable to restrict people’s freedom. |
