▶ Your Answer :
As technologies have evolved continuously,
we believe our lives have become easier than before. However, I think our lives
are actually more difficult to live than when our grandparents were children.
Firstly,
in recent days, we have to consider too many things when we make decisions.
Ever-improving technologies in diverse field help us out when we are in a
decision-making process. Nevertheless, we often have to consider too many
things and conditions unnecessarily. For example, when we leave our home to
commute to workplace or school, we mostly check our smartphones to get the
weather forecast of the day or the information about traffic congestion. Then,
after considering all the information we collected from the smartphones, we
make decisions about when we need to leave, which bus or subway to take, and
whether we should bring umbrellas. However, few decades ago, people would
simply check the clouds in the sky to see if they have to bring their
umbrellas. Understandingly, the technologies help us a lot to make better
decisions. However, it is clear that we have to put a lot more things into
consideration when we make decisions these days.
Secondly,
works we have to deal with have become more complicated than before. Improved
technologies evidently aid our works. Furthermore, they often take simple and
repetitive tasks from humans’ hands. For example, collecting and assembling parts
in car manufacturing factories have been superseded by robots from laborers.
Consequently, instead of doing simple and repetitive kind of jobs, we need to
do more complex and demanding jobs. In this reason, work burden of each worker
is increasing with the technology evolution.
In
sum, I strongly believe life is not easier than the time when my grandparents
were children for the two reasons; first, we have to make decisions considering
a lot of information we are provided; second, we have been facing more
complicated tasks. |
