▶ Your Answer :
Definitely, transportation plays a
significant role in many of the places where people play or work. Some people
think that cars have made a greater impact on society than airplanes. Both
sides might have their own reasons to support their views. If I were asked to
choose one, I would say that airplanes have more affected people’s lives. There
are several reasons as follows.
To begin with, airplanes allow people to
understand a variety of cultures and traditions. Since airplanes take us
anywhere we want to go on the planet, we can go to the foreign countries and
directly see real lives and cultures of people there. When it exposes people to
different environments, they tend to acknowledge other cultures and traditions.
For example, when I was eight years old, I saw one of my classmate from
Ethiopia eating his meal with bare hands. I felt very uncomfortable by his
behavior because it was my first time seeing someone like that. I kept my
distance from him and sometimes made fun of him. However, after traveling to
Africa last year by airplane, I got used to this cultural difference. I
realized that we just had different eating styles. In fact, we had a lot in
common in a way that we all cared about our family and friends, were committed
to relationships, and got easily hurt by what others say. I no longer feel
awkward and can keep in touch with them. Without airplane, I would not have understood
other cultural aspects.
In addition, airplanes enable us to
experience diverse works and studies around the world. In modern times,
companies from many countries are connected each other and even work together.
Furthermore, most universities give their students a chance to study abroad.
For doing these, airplanes have perfectly contributed to people’s experience in
the fastest way. For instance, when I was in the second grade at the college, I
was given a chance to apply for an exchange student program. I was able to
choose between China and Australia. I chose to go to Australia because I wanted
to learn more about a western culture and literature. If I was not able to take
the airplane, I would not have been to Australia and studied what I wanted to
learn.
All things considered, I strongly believe
that the advantages of airplanes far outweigh those of cars. All in all, the
impact of airplanes cannot be overestimated in the development of society.
