▶ Your Answer :
Many people may think that
doing easy schoolwork or jobs is better than taking on challenging ones.
Contrary to the popular belief, I think that engaging in difficult work would
be more efficient for two essential reasons; the feeling when I solve the
challenging job is nice, and I can broad my perspective.
First of all, I can do my
work much more enjoyable if I select to do hard ones. It is obvious that, if
we achieve the goal that we never thought it would be possible or easy to
figure out, we may feel happiness and tend to proud of ourselves than
achieving easy ones. As a consequence, we may try harder and spend more time
on the job to success it. There is a saying that if we have no challenging
goal, our life would be meaningless. Hard goal can be a motivation to
challenge things. For example, when I was in grade 6, I enrolled an easy math
lecture in school. It was easy as I expected, and it wasn’t interesting. The
subject taught in the lecture was the thing that I already knew, so there was
any motivator to study math. After several weeks, I decided to go highest
math lecture, and it was bit difficult for me. However, I liked the feeling
when I solved a difficult question. It became a motivator, and I studied
really hard to solve other questions. It means that, challenging jobs or
schoolwork can work as an encouragement, and lead us to do the work harder,
and get better result.
Moreover, I can broad my
perspective. It is an undeniable fact that, if we have a challenging work, we
have to study and search about many things to solve it. By this process, we
can know many things that we never knew. After then, we can think about
various things, since we can get broaden perspective. These days, many large
companies like people who are global-minded and who have creativity, broaden
perspective can be an important key to survive in modern society. For
instance, there was a research conducted by the University Of California in
2005 about doing hard tasks. They separated students with two groups, group A
with students who are required to solve difficult tasks and group B with
students who are required to solve easy ones. We could know that, students
from former group spent lots of time studying, and they got lots of
information in diverse field, while latter group students finished their
assignment fast and didn’t get other information. As a result, challenging
tasks allow people to think about many things and finally broad their
perspective.

I firmly believe that, taking on
uneasy schoolwork or jobs is better than doing easy ones for the reasons I have
mentioned above. The importance of figuring difficult work should not be
underestimated to succeed in modern society.
