Thankful to transportations, we can now visit many different places in a very short time. Among the various types of transportation, one could say that the car is the most popular and common machine to go to another place. Roads are everywhere and we can easily see them packed with so many cars. However, the world is constantly changing, and new technology, policies and law of the world are newly made and changed every now and then. This is why I think there will be fewer care in use than there are today in twenty years.
The first reason is that, development of sciences and technology would make us not to have needs for cars. In the previous time, human used to ride horses, and then a carriage like a wagon appeared later time. Even though all of these were used or invented for transportation, it is very rare to see them nowadays in the roads. We all know that there are cars, which can take us to anywhere we want most effectively on the roads. But no one can say for sure that car would be the dominant machine on the roads forever. Experts of various science subjects are evolving, and totally new subjects like virtual reality are added in the university courses. Therefore, there could be a totally new transportation waiting for us that would follow after cars.
Secondly, government in the most developed and developing countries are constantly trying to reduce our use of cars. Even though car is a very helpful tool to take us here and there, we can never ignore its affects on the environment. The media always make us aware of the ozone hole getting bigger and bigger, and the image of the foggy sky not caused by natural reasons is familiar with us. Even if cars are not the sole reason for these, government and international organizations propose policies to use less cars as a way of saving our environment. For example, my father's workplace did not allow cars that had a certain number on the license plate on certain days. It was a policy offered by the goverment and it made my father to take a bus every Tuesday.
It is a bit hard to imagine roads with fewer or no cars for now, but I think the number of cars will start to decline at some point. The reason of it could be the development in techonoly or government banning the use of cars, as I have illustrated, or totally different reasons could cause it. I will remember writing an essay about it, and I will see if my prediction was wrong or right.(444) |
