▶ Your Answer : Undoubtedly, learning about a foreign country plays a significant role in people`s daily lives in many of the places where they work or play. Some people think that reading newspapers and magazines from a country is the best way to learn about one, while others do not. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I were asked to choose one, I would say that it is not the best approach for people to learn a foreign country by reading newspapers and magazines from there. There are several reasons as follows. To begin with, when people use the technologies such as the Internet, they can learn a foreign country faster with a higher accuracy. The technologies are equipped with many functions that people would do efficiently and accurately. When these functions are well used, it is likely to bring a better result in performance. For example, my youngest brother had an assignment that students investigated one country in the history class. It was difficult for him to investigate Japan by reading newspapers and magazines form the Japan. This was because he did not know japanese. However, he has changed little by little after using his smart phone and the computer to do his research. He realized that using these technologies helps him complete his tasks faster with a higher accuracy. To be specific, with the Internet, he was able to access a wide range of the latest information on the Japan regardless of language. One of the latest application programs helped him obtain the most reliable information at the click of a button. Thanks to these machines, he submitted his assignment on time and received A in the class. If he had not used new technologies, he would have fallen behind. In addition, obtaining information on a foreign country by reading newspapers and magazines from there can provide people biased information on one country. The newspapers and magazines are made people who have certain ideologies or purposes. When these certain information provide people, it is likely to prevent them from getting diverse visions about a foreign country. For instance, when my youngest sister was in high school, she planned to travel to the Ethiopia. She read many magazines from the country and recognized the country has been safe. However, after she traveled the country, she experienced civil war in the country and she came back home immediately. Later on, she realized that the magazines from them distort the fact that the country is in the war because they want to earn money from travelers. If he had not read newspapers and magazines from one country, he would not have experienced dangerous situations. All things considered, I strongly believe that it is not good for people to learn about a foreign country by reading newspapers and magazines from them for reasons I have mentioned above. All in all, the importance of disadvantages about learning from newspapers and magazines cannot be overestimated in life.
