▶ Your Answer :
It is debatable whether to improve the quality of education, universities should spend more money on salaries for university professors. In general, the consensus view seems to be that spending more money on salaries for university professors has nothing to do with the quality of education. In my opinion, however, I firmly believe that it is effective to spend more money on salaries for university professors in improving the quality of education for the following two subsequent reasons.
First and foremost, since skilled professors tend to be offered from many schools, universities should invest in the salaries of professors. To be specific, it is reasonable for prominent professors to want to get higher salaries because they have made an effort to learn a variety of knowledge. Thus, it is legitimate to say that skillful professors deserve to acquire higher salaries. For example, when I was a university student with a music major, my advisor, who is one of the famous pianists, was offered from another university. He said that our school gave him an additional bonus considering his talent and skills. Hence, he felt happy because our school admitted his ability in terms of education, and he enthusiastically devoted his efforts to the students.
In addition, high salaries are closely related to the responsibility of education. To be specific, educators tend to feel better and responsible with regard to the high income since such salaries require a high level of teaching quality. To earn a high income, professors will try to be an authorized educator or a skillful teacher. For instance, there is a poll conducted by the Johns Hopkins University with 300 promising professors as respondents. The purpose of the survey is to understand the consensus view about the investment of universities. The majority of respondents argued that universities’ investment should be focused on salaries for university faculties who have the responsibility of education. An overwhelming 84 percent responded that high salaries as a good motivation stimulate professor to develop the quality of their class.
In conclusion, taking skilled professors who are offered from many schools and the responsibility of education into consideration, I strongly believe that universities have to spend more money on salaries for university professors. In this sense, it is my belief that my argument has been effectively and precisely delivered with the reasons mentioned above. Never should we forget that this issue may have a huge impact on our future.
