There has been an argument regarding the issue of whether students should be exposed to teachers’ opinions on social and political issues in class. Some people maintain that there is no problem even though teachers show their social and political opinions to the students. However, my view on this matter is that students should not be exposed to those kinds of opinions of their teachers for the following two reasons. To begin with, showing teachers’ political opinions in class is not a good form of education because they might be biased. Since students have a general tendency to believe their teachers’ words without doubts, they might have the same bias with their teachers. Even though the students should have the ability to think about the matters and decide by themselves, this might be interfered with their teacher’s wrong ideas. This is a terrible form of education. For example, in a couple of decades ago, several teachers are arrested in Korea because they delivered their political opinions candidly to their students. The government announced that those actions might implant distorted ideas in students. On top of that, students might be confused when exposed to different political opinions of people. By listening to their teacher's biased ideas continually, they start to believe those opinions are true. However, if they hear different political opinions from their parents or other people., they will be greatly bewildered. I have my personal experience to explain this. When I was in elementary school, my teacher always told me in favor of one politician. So I thought the politician is a really good person. However, on a different day, I heard my parents talking that the politician is bad and evil. At the time, I was so confused. Taking everything into consideration, if students are exposed to their teacher’s social and political opinions, they might be confused. Moreover, that is not a good form of education. In this regard, I strongly believe that students should not be exposed to teacher’s opinions on social and political issues in class.
