▶ Your Answer :Some people think that watching television prevent children from studying harder because children tend to spend tremendous time on TV. However, in my opinion, it is beneficial to allow them to enjoy TV considering the fact that there are myriad of tv programs which are useful to study and the fact that break time with TV can be helpful.
To begin with, some people might say that TV programs are mostly violent or immoral. However, this is an old story. As time goes by, educational programs have appeared. We cannot deny the fact that children can not only obtain a lot of knowledge but also enjoy time while watching TV. For instance, there was a poll conducted by the Board of Children Education, with 200 parents as respondents. The purpose of the survey was to understand the consensus view about how TV affects their children. An overwhelming 73% responded that there are more positive aspects of TV rather than negative since their children are mostly exposed to useful education programs.
On top of that, in order to solve difficult problems, there is no better way than taking a break. Since watching TV can give children break time and help them relieve their stress, their efficiency of studying would be greater. For example, a research conducted by the Department of Welfare is a good example for this. the researcher tracked the habit of 200 children over a 1 year period in order to find out whether taking a rest has effect on their school performance. What they found was intriguing. The children who had break time such as watching TV were better at problem solving than those who studied without break. This is mainly due to the fact that watching TV help children's brain refresh.
To sum up, taking educational value and problem solving into consideration, Watching TV is noticeably conducive to children. In this regard, I firmly believe that it is better for parents to make their children watch TV. |
