▶ Your Answer :
Nowadays as
people show more interest in well-being and health, some people think that
universities should spend money on sports as they do on libraries. However, in
my opinion, this is an unnecessary option considering the purpose of
universities and numerous sports facilities in the city.
To begin with,
universities are the place for academics. It is natural and essential for universities to
spend more money on libraries since they have a dire need to provide the
students not only their academic reference books, but also the perfect place to
focus on their studies within the university. Of course sports is good for
boosting the students, but as students attend universities for education, there
is no need for further investment in sports. (Need example)
On top of that,
there are many places for sports other than universities. Well equipped gyms,
parks or sporting centers can be easily found in most cities and people who
pursue have many places to do sports. In fact, many of my friends find
exercising in gyms or fields effectively than doing sports in universities. (Need more examples and explanation)
To sum up, although
athletics do promote physical health, it does not require money investment as
libraries do. Education is the priority when it comes to universities. In this
regard, I think that universities should not provide as much funding for
students’ sports activities as they do for their libraries.
