These days, many people enjoy traveling to new places and
they visit museums during the journey. I strongly agree with the statement that
people like to visit museums and I think there are two main reasons, which I
will explore in the following essay.
To begin with, people go to museums to know the place’s
background information where they visit. Usually, museums provide their
history, own tradition, and cultures. This is because people want to know the information
to feel the country well. People will receive a huge impression while they
travel by learning background information about the new places. To be specific,
I visited to Philadelphia museum when I traveled to Philadelphia alone. I
wanted to know Philadelphia well because I cannot get much information if I
just go around the city alone without any background knowledge. After exploring
the museum, I was very satisfied with their exhibitions the museum provides
because I could skim the whole story of Philadelphia for just two hours. Also,
I could explain about Philadelphia to my friends based on the information I saw
at the museum when I came back to my country.
On top of that, there are many activities at museums for people
who visit there at the first time. Especially, for foreign traveler, museums
offer various activities such as experiencing traditional clothes, eating
traditional food and so on. Visitors are highly satisfied with these
activities. For example, there is a special history in South Korea. Before
modern period, there was a kingdom. At that time, people wore Hanbok, which is
traditional clothes in South Korea. The clothes that king wore, were distinct
from the clothes ordinary people wore. Therefore, people who are traveling to
South Korea always visit museums to experience the clothes. Museums provide a
service taking a photo them wearing Hanbok.
In conclusion, I think that many people visit museums when
they trip to new places because they want to know the place well by learning
the places’ history and also want to experience its own traditional activities.
