▶ Your Answer : Undoubtedly, movies play a significant role in people's daily lives in many of places where they work or play. Some people think that movies tell a lot about a country, while others do not. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to choose one, I would say that movies show a lot of characteristics of the background country.
To begin with, movies are full of unique cultural factors, native to the background country. When we watch movies, not only can we understand the plot and characters of the movies but also observe the way characters react to a certain situation. Sometimes we can find similarities with our country, while sometimes we may catch a lot of cultural differences. For example, when I was a college student, I watched the Spanish movie 'Volver' in the Spanish literature class. Although I was learing Spanish then, I could get to know more about Spain through main characters' action, background music and the way they dance and song. Even I could discover Spanish table manner and eating habits. Without watching Spanish movies, I could have been in the dark, regarding Spanish culture.
All things considered, I firmly believe that movies display various parts about country. I think this trend will continue and pass down to the next generation, as the understanding of cultural differences is getting more important than ever before in the globalization.
