In
my country, there is an old saying that "When you meet a tiger in the
forest, you can find an escape from it if you do not lose your control."
It means that even if I face in some difficult situations, I need to try to not
be in a panic and keep concentrating to find the solution. Therefore, in the
end, I can find the right way. In this sense, I have two steps to manage my
problems well, controlling my negative emotions and finding alternative options
quickly.
First of all, When I am in some unpleasant
problems, I totally try to remove my personal negative feelings and concentrate
on the objective facts that are happening right now. That is because it is
effective to find a solution. In my personal experience, I met some obstacles
when I traveled in India. I made a plan to go to Agra from New Deli by a city
bus. However, the day when I try to move to that city, the bus company suddenly
stroke. There were no other buses to go to Agra directly. At first, I was so
disappointed and depressed, because I really wanted to see the Palace in Agra.
However, a few minutes later, I cheer up myself and eliminate all the negative thinking
and emotions. Moreover, I focus on the facts. Thus, I was able to make my
thought. "The problem is just from the bus company, then maybe I can go
there by other transportation."
Secondly, I try to find many alternative ways
to try to solve the problems and think about the pros and cons. Through these
ways, I can select the best options. In the situation that I mentioned above, I
tried to get diverse information to go to Agra. Finally, I got three options.
First, going to another city and taking the bus to go to Agra. Second, going
there by airplane. Third, going there with a family who also had a plan to go
Agra by their car. For me, the first and second option was too expensive, I was
not able to afford it. In contrast, going together with strangers was free even
though I was not sure about them. With these pros and cons, I select the third
option and succeeded to go to Agra.
Therefore, one of my problem-solving
strategies is reducing negative emotions and only focus on finding other
options. With these strategies, I can get the best answers about the problem. |
