Some people think that
information from magazines are an important factor when they consider buying new products.
However, in my opinion, reviews from online communities have the most
significant impact on people's choice. This is because many comments about
products provide more trustworthy information, and people are able to acquire
data about each companies' response to many complaints of consumers.
To begin with, a huge amount of reviews from people are more reliable as a source of information when a person think of purchasing a product or service. Reading a lot of
reviews make me choose products objectively. For example, I was planning to buy
a new laptop because I had seen an advertisement introducing their good products
on sale. However, when I searched reviews about this product, many comments informed that a lot of the model's features were exaggerated, and the product was broken down very easily.
Without their comments, I would have chosen that computer and regretted it.
On top of that, people can
obtain the information on how companies deal with their complaints. After the buyers
bought goods, companies' attitude regarding after service is very important. This is supported by a
survey that was conducted by a company named Samsung in Korea. The purpose of the
survey was to understand the consensus view about the most important factor
when people purchased goods. In the study, a total of 800 consumers completed a
detailed questionnaire. What they found was intriguing. An overwhelming 65% had
responded that companies' response to their complaints was the most crucial
impact on their choice, while the remaining 30% had claimed that information on
the magazines or recommendation of friends is the most important one. To sum up, a lot of reviews
from the Internet offer more dependable information about products, and they
also provide others the data about each companies' response after the purchase. For
these reasons mentioned above, I strongly believe that reviews that are made made online has the most
significant impact on buyer's choice.
