▶ Your Answer : Some people might think school grading system is obstacle to
students to study. Because, it can make students study only for test. However,
in my opinion, providing students with grades promotes learning. This is
because grades can be motivation to students to study hard and it can give
students with evidence of academic progress.
To
begin with, students stimulated to learn more by their grades. When students
receive good grade, they fill grade is reward about their effort. It can make
students to study hard to get better grade than before. Plus, they often encouraged
compete with each other to get great grades. For example, when I was middle
school age, I did not have any interest about science and really dislike
science class. One day, I got a terrible grade of science exam than my expectation
and my friend. I was shocked. Since then, I studied very hard to get high grade
than my friend and I managed it. After I receive high grade, I was so proud
about myself and study more to get better grades. Now, science becomes one of
my favorite subjects.
On
top of that, students can check their academic progress through grades. If
there are no grades, students could not determine how well doing in subjects,
which require effort. They also can make study plan efficiently base on their
grades. For instance, according to the research of Korean educators, students
who take tests and receive grades tend to make plan more systematically than
other students who do not take tests for grades. The reason is that grades spur
students to focus on subjects which they do not well. Therefore, they do not
have to time consuming study and concentrate on specific subjects that they do
poorly.
To sum up, grades allow students to know about
their level on subjects and motivate them to learn more. In this regard, I
agree with the statement that school should provide grades to students to
provoke students’ best achievement. |
