At first glance, it seems that it is better
idea to spend your earnings right away for your happiness. However, I firmly believe
that saving money in a long-term is imperative than ever before for our lives
due to the following reasons.
First of all, saving money enables us to
make huge expenditure in the future. In particular, marriage is the most relevant event for this
due to the fact that we need to pay several fixed costs to have a family of our
own; for example, cars, houses, and home electronics are the first options we
take into our consideration to prepare for wedding.
For this case, my older sister's recent
experience can be used to validate the claim above. My sister, Susan, recently
has got married with one of her colleagues in her workplace. Before the
marriage, they happened to know the expected cost of having their own life
independently. The figure was much above their financial ability that making
loans were inevitable. As a result, they both regret for neglecting the importance
of saving money.
In addition, Saving money also allows you
to readily handle with life contingencies. To be specific, our lives are filled
with uncertainty and risks. We don't know when to get an illness and when to
face some accidents. However, we can somehow handle with this situation by
joining some insurance programs and sparing small ratio of your budget as an
insurance premium every month.
According to National Bureau of Statistics
in South Korea, statistics show that almost 80 percent of any insurance
program's members replied they once have deducted medical charges from
hospitals. Considering the fact that medical fees are usually high in amount,
preparing yourself with saving money for insurance is a crucial factor in a
long-term.
In conclusion, I’m highly convinced that
saving money is important for the reasons mentioned above.
