▶ Your Answer : While the author in the reading passage argues that Iceberg and the whale spotted are not the same individuals, the lecturer opposes the reading passage’s assertion with different views.
First of all, the professor contends that the claim about different color is flawed. The amount of sunshine and water temperature might change the skin color of whales. Yet, underneath skin color was unchanged. This goes against the reading passage’s argument that the color of the newly spotted adult is completely varied from that of the one uncovered in 2000.
Secondly, the professor points out that the assertion concerning the far distance around 1,500 miles is wrong. There are two types of Orcas whales, hunting type and fishing type, and fishing type can move around 2000 miles. So it is not too hard for them to move 1,500 miles. This call into question the reading passage’s argument that the distance between the spots is too far for a whale to trip along the coastal regions.
Finally, the professor argues that the opinion regarding fin’s size is mistaken. While it is correct that measuring the whale’s size then speculating their age, scientists could not examine accurately between 20 and 30 years old because the fins usually don’t grow from 20 years old. This contradicts the idea presented in the reading passage that it was similar in size between fins of whales first sighted in 2000 and some of the second sightings occurred in 2010, then they might not be the same whale. |
