▶ Your Answer :The reading
argues that congestion pricing has some advantages. On the other hand, the
lecturer brings up several points that contradicts the reading.
First of all, the lecturer maintains
that congestion pricing makes accidents more severe. The lectures says that Traffic reductions causes severe accidents. This is
because, decrease in the volume of traffic makes vehicles drive too fast, and
these this speeding leads to serious car accidents. This contradicts the reading
passage’s assertion that decline of traffic leads to a decrease in the number
of accidents.
In addition,
according to a the lecturer, congestion pricing negatively impacts on transportation
network in a long term. The lecturers explains that the system makes people use
transportations more often, which it leads to exceed of riders in buses. Therefore,
riders cannot take the buses and have to wait more time than before. This
refutes the reading which states that congestion pricing is beneficial to city
transport network.
The final point
made by the lecturer is that congestion pricing is bad for businesses. The speaker
says that as more suburban shoppers drive into in to the city, it leads to discomfort. This rebuffs the reading passage’s claim that congestion
pricing benefits businesses within a city.
