Many opinions may exist over the argument
whether children should spend most of their time playing and studying rather than
helping their family in household chores. As far as I am concerned, I am in
complete a disagreement with the argument. Two ideas stated below can be valid
evidence to support my view.
First of all, helping their family in
household chores can usher children into the right direction by teaching kids
precious life lessons and the true value of life. Nowadays, some people are too
immature to have thorough understandings of life and are likely to become incapable
of coping with problems at pivotal moments in their lives. However, by helping
their family cooking or cleaning will mature kids and enlightens the way how
they live in sociality. Thus, sharing household chores with kids can be
effective for kids to be matured. According to research conducted by
psychologist John Nathan, children who help family’s household chores understand
how their environments are constructed and become more matured.
On top of all, sharing household chores
enables kids to learn more and enhance potential benefits. Today, children are living
in a world of meritocracy where only extremely talented children can survive.
Consequently, kids suffer mentally and physically from tight schedules and
competitive environments. In the long run, they cannot but miss the chances to
delve into numerous issues that could have been profitable. This explains why
it is better for children to spend most of their time helping their family in
household chores than playing and studying in honing potentials that could have
been overlooked. According to a survey conducted by Seoul National University,
an anonymous survey respondent answered household chores in childhood helped
her to become a experienced adult. Also, she responded if it had not been for
the experience, cleaning or cooking, she would not be able to clean her room by
herself.
To sum up, I believe my explanations above
sufficiently prove the advantages of helping children’s families. Obviously,
the significance of maturation and potential benefits. Hence, in order for
children to acquire these benefits, helping family’s household chores undoubtedly
is a better decision than studying and playing out of a house.
