▶ Your Answer :Some people say that when
they regard a major selection, other factor such as information of magazines
and recommendation from famous person has a greater influence on our choices.
However, I have a different idea. I strongly believe that recommendation from
close friends greatly effect on their choice of major. There are several
reasons for these. People can trust in friends, talk with friends about major
carefully. Also, friends can distinguish between strength and weakness.
To begin with, people can be had substantially effect on
their choice if friend recommend their major because people can believe
friends. Trust can make it possible for people to carefully consider friends'
recommendation. In other words, because friends have gotten along with people,
they are willing to help people to decide their proper major. Friends will give
a advice to them sincerely. So, people can accept their frank advice. On the
other hand, since magazine, celebrate, information of internet are more likely
to convey false fact. In this factor, people cannot trust these.
Second, friends can make larger effect on choice of major
since they can be concerned about deliberate selection with people for a long
time. This means that people can have a conversation about the problem with
friends. In this process, friends and people can consider carefully about the
major and find a way to solve the problem. Through the long conversation,
people can eventually find optimal choice. For example, when I was a high school
student, I had to decide college major. I had a hard time in choose which major
are appropriate. So, I talked with my best friend Tom. Eventually, he could
give assistance to me through the process to consider diverse aspects together.
Finally, friends can have more considerable influence on
people's choice in that they have known that people have various strength and
weakness. It is important to know about diverse characteristics because these
can lead people to fit in their aptitude. Observing people for a long time,
friends can find people's characteristics. Thus, they give information about
what kind of strength they have. For example, my father had a friend, Mike.
They spent time together for 10 years. Therefore, they knew about themselves
very well. At that time, my father needed to choose math and history major. He
tried to ponder about the major, but he could not select this. However, thanks
to Mike, he could choose optimal major.
To sum, I strongly think that friends can make greatly
effect on people decision of major because people can believe friends' advice
and have a conversation for long time, and friends know about their strength
and weakness. |
