Some people might think that
people should make a decision as soon as possible. However, in my opinion,
having long enough time is imperative in order to make a the best judgement for the following reasons
concerning that a long time to consideration consider
enables people to reduce error in the decision making process, and use their
time and tangible resources like money.
To begin with, if people
investigate about a problem for a long time, they could considerate all aspects
of the problem, and lessen errors and mistakes. In contrast, if they are under pressure to make a judgement
quickly, they would see only some aspects of the problem, and tend to simplify
the problem situation. As a result, they would make an inappropriate decision.
For example, last time, I me and my friend
wanted to buy a new smart phone. I explored all
smart phones in the market during for a
month, in contrast, my friend bought a phone impulsively without deliberating
fully only because the phone’s design was
fitted with his taste. After that, I was satisfied
with my new phone, but my friend’s phone was broken
before long. This is because the phone’s appearance was
good, but the its durability was the
worst among smart phones released these days. As a result, he had to spend lots
of money in order to fix it.
On top of that, I could save my
time necessary to make a best decision efficiently if I invested them on the
decision making process for a long time. Since I would take into consideration
all probabilities related with the problem, I
could reduce the probability to make an error. Therefore, resolving a mistake
would not be necessary. In contrast, If I did
not explore the problem for a long time meticulously, the probability of error
would increase, and I should spend additional time in order to solve the error.
In addition, after resolving the mistake, I have to delve into the problem
again in order to make a new decision. This is so inefficient and time
consuming. In this sense, I will take an example of mine. Last year, I looked
for a new house to move into. Before long, I chose
a house only within a week and moved to there because the house was the
cheapest. However, after two weeks, I completely regretted the decision because it had lots of cons (such as?). Therefore, I had to search a new house
again for one month, and spend additional time to sell the previous house and
get a new appropriate house.
To sum up, having
a long time to make a decision is helpful for people to make a best decision,
and avoid spending much more time to get a right decision. In this regard, I
firmly believe that people should take into consideration for a long before
making a judgement.
