▶ Your Answer : Undoubtedly, making a decision must be prudent because no one knows what it would bring about in the future. Some might say that people should ask someone when they decide something important, while the others think oppositely. Both sides may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to choose one, I would say that it is not better to determine alone for the following two reasons.
To begin with, other people's experience may help with one's decision-making. As technology such as the Internet has advanced, people can easily access a variety of information. If people utilized obtained information properly, it helps prevent trial and error. For example, when I was in college, I needed a laptop for doing homework. However, because I was ignorant about the computer I could not decide a certain model. Therefore, I searched for information In the Internet. I could gather a lot of information within a few minutes. I could compared various types of laptops readily. and I bought a laptop based on information at affordable prices.
On top of that, since a decision might have a huge impact on others or society, it is important to have a variety of perspectives. Having a discussion with others enable people to encounter various views. For example, The Korean government decided to increase the rate of taxation in 2002 in order to spend more funds on welfare for the poor. As a result, the rich protested against that resolution. However, the government consisted condition, totally ignoring dissenters. Finally, the government party lost at following election. Without considering different positions, the decision would not be reasonable.
In a nutshell, taking a decision by oneself would be more fast and convenient. However, a person has a limited knowledge and narrow perspective. All things considered, I firmly believe that people need to have help from the Internet or others. |
